We know a lady who gets up and walks her dog at 4:30 in the morning. Asked why she walks so early, she answered that later in the morning she can smell the fumes coming from the neighborhood dryer vents, and the smell makes her sick.
It was such complaints that led a University of Washington researcher to examine what kinds of chemicals are coming out of dryer vents. She found that scented laundry products emit hazardous chemicals. Researchers examined the air vented from dryer vents and found 25 volatile organic compounds, or chemicals that become gases, including seven hazardous air pollutants.
Dryer Sheets May Contain Phthalates
Phthalates are chemicals used to make plastic more flexible and to carry scents. Phthalates may not appear on a product label, but may still be in the product as part of the ingredient listed as "fragrance."
Phthalates are known hormone disrupters and according to this CNN report they may also be hurting children's IQ's.
MelaSoft uses biodegradable plant-based softening agents, and is the first fabric softener to use fragrance capsules without formaldehyde! MelaSoft uses natural essential oils for fragrance. It is available in dryer sheets and liquid fabric softener. Clean Cotton uses tangerine, clove, and patchouli essential oils. Spring Breeze uses chamomile, geranium, and cedar wood. And Garden Lavender uses lavender essential oil. With long-lasting scent encapsulation technology, clothes laundered with MelaSoft continue to smell naturally clean and fresh for days after being washed.
The Melaleuca Wellness Guide, in addition to recommending MelaSoft for laundry, notes that MelaSoft has other uses:
Hair Static Electricity: When you are challenged with static hair, spray some diluted MelaSoft on your hairbrush or comb. It works wonders to calm a bad hair day.
Glass Tabletops: To keep lint off after cleaning mix 1/4 teaspoon of MelaSoft and water in a 16oz spray bottle. Spray on and dry with a cloth towel. Use also to quickly polish chrome fixtures in the bath and kitchen.
Insect Repellent: Save your used MelaSoft Dryer Sheets and carry one in your front pocket, tie to your hair, or slip it through a belt loop. Since the MelaSoft fragrance is from essential oils, it makes sense that it will help keep bugs away.
Dusting: MelaSoft reduces static cling. Use old dryer sheets to dust television and computer screens. Try a used dryer sheet to pick up dust and pet hair.
Use a MelaSoft Dryer Sheet when storing clothes and shoes. They help repel moths and freshen clothes, shoes and more.

Little strips of MelaSoft Dryer Sheets work great to protect favorite plants from being eaten by deer. Deer use their extreme sense of smell to alert them of danger and if scents are strong they become nervous and move on to eat somewhere else. I have tested this out by tying a tiny strip of MelaSoft to a blooming tulip. Tulips are like candy to deer. With a bit of MelaSoft Dryer Sheet in the garden they walked right past the plant and garden. I try to keep strong scented plants growing and blooming in the front open garden. But early spring and late fall can be a "quiet scent time" in the garden of deer repelling plants. If the deer are active the MelaSoft can save a plant or new tree. Usually I only have to tie the little strips on the plants once in the season. The deer quickly learn to avoid this area and move on to eat at other yards.
Living here in Hawaii I hardly ever use a dryer! It does rain, however, and when it does I want my just washed MelaPower clothes to feel fresh and combat mildew. That's why I use the convenient MelaSoft Dryer Sheets! My clothes smell even fresher than when I hang them on the line!
I love MelaSoft liquid. It makes our clothes so nice and easy to fold. The permanent press clothes come out ready to hang. The 100% cotton shirts (not t-shirts) still need ironing, but the t-shirts look good without it. I left MelaSoft liquid out of a load because it had our eyeglass cloths and forgot to put a sheet in the dryer after I held them out and I really noticed the difference! I like to use the dryer sheets in my bed sheet box. It keeps the sheets nice and fresh. I do the same with seasonal clothes I pack away.
I like the MelaSoft dryer sheets. It gives my clothes, towels, linen a fresh smell, best of all without the use of harmful chemicals or abrasives. Regards,
